Bridge Club (Social)
Happy September to everyone from
all of the Social Bridge people.
We have several Holidays this month
plus the beginning of Fall. The
suggestion is to toss a coin, and
choose one or two; or go all out and
party down with all of them. The
choice is yours.
*** Election time is upon us. There will
be a notice placed on the bulletin
board indicating the day and time of
the meeting for your election of
Officers. ***
We would like to welcome all of our
new Residents to our wonderful
Community. We would like for you to
join us for a friendly game of Bridge.
Our playing times are:
Tuesday – 6:00 pm
Thursday Class – 12:30 pm
Thursday Bridge – 1:00 pm

The purpose of the take out double is
to request one’s partner to bid his
best suit. This he must do even if he
has zero points.

National CERT Week will be celebrated September 20 – 26, 2026. This
year’s theme is “Stronger Communities
Start Here”. If you know a CERT volunteer, whether he or she be an
Assessor, Yellow or Green Shirt,
please thank them for their dedication to the DWSCCC Community.
September is also National Preparedness Month. As we enter peak hurricane season, be sure your household

is financially ready for disaster and
personal emergencies that may
happen at any time. For example,
make copies of your identification,
insurance cards, social security cards,
the declaration page of your homeowner’s policy, car insurance information and registration cards, prescriptions
and medical information, pet ID tags
and vaccination records. Place them
in a waterproof, sealed pouch to be
available if you need to evacuate.
Since ATMs, banks, internet and cell
phone services may suffer outages
for several days or weeks, having
sufficient cash on hand is also a must.
The FEMA website Ready.gov is a
great resource for disaster preparedness with specifics on how to safeguard all your important documents
digitally, in a waterproof box/safe or
in a bank safe deposit box.

spread the word to neighbors and
friends!
Club 36
Club 36 was formed to build friendship and fun among our members and
the community. We meet for socials,
provide entertainment for our members
and the community, and at the same
time raise funds for charity. Our activities range from potluck dinners to
game nights to trips to local entertainment venues, and we are always
looking for new ideas.
Club 36 members will enjoy our
annual Trivia Night on September 19.

old, as we solve the questions to win
cash prizes. Watch your email for

Plantation Raid
In March 1865, a 30-man team of
mostly Black Union soldiers traveled
from Jacksonville, 100 miles behind
enemy lines to conduct a daring raid
in remote Marion County. Having to
return on foot to St. Augustine 80
miles away, they knew a Confederate
cavalry unit would be hot on their
trail. The Black raiders planned the
