Waterbugs
Summertime is here and a great time
for making Waterbugs classes part
of your regular routine. We offer
audio classes at the Penn Pool on
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
mornings at 8, 9, and 10 am.
Water aerobics is an easier form of
exercise. Being in water while exercising is so much easier! Having the
buoyancy of the water surrounding
you makes maintaining your balance
so much simpler.
Come and experience the beauty of
making new friends in the warm
Florida sunshine while improving
your health and wellbeing! See you
there!

working with wood and helping

As always, we are looking for new

Writers’ Bloc
In June 1776, a resolution was
proposed that the Thirteen Colonies
were “free and independent states”
from the British Crown. Okay, what
to do next? A committee of five were
appointed to come up with a declaration to justify this separation –
Thomas Jefferson, John Adams,
Benjamin
Franklin,
Robert
R.
Livingston, and Roger Sherman.
Recognized for his writing skills,
Jefferson was tasked with preparing
the initial draft. He shared it with
Franklin and Adams for revisions.
Then the rest of the committee
reviewed it for changes and suggestions before presenting it to
Congress. Congress debated and
further edited the document before
completion. It was finally approved
and adopted on July 4, 1776.
No matter your writing skills,
improvements can always be made.
This is what the Writers’ Bloc Club
does. Members listen and read each
other’s writings and offer thoughts
and ideas to help improve their work.
Well-done elements of a story are
also shared with the author.
Meetings are held the first and third
Thursday of each month at 10 am in
the Game Room. There is also a
subgroup, Creative Fiction, that
