Happy Tails Dog Club
Our Del Webb Dog Park was established in 2012. We members run,
maintain, and annually renew our
dog(s) membership. $10 for one dog
or $17.50 for two. Homeowners/
Tenants are welcome to join.
Requirements:
• Dog(s) minimum age – four months.
• Each owner must provide proof
of the following:
• Dog’s current Marion County
license.
• Rabies, Distemper/Parvo,
Bordetella vaccinations.
• Spay/neutered by a licensed
veterinarian.
Only members who have annually
met all requirements are permitted to
utilize the park. Once a member, you
will annually be issued the gate entry
code and collar tag(s) for each dog(s)
to wear while in the dog park.
These requirements help ensure the
safety of both our dogs and members.
Dog owners are responsible for
cleaning up after as well as controlling
their dog(s). No digging allowed. It is
the owner’s responsibility to immediately correct any damage their dog(s)
cause.
Separate from the dog Park is the
Happy Tails Dog Club which makes
decisions about the park and organizes fundraisers to help pay for
expenses.

Grandkids Celebration of America’s
250th Anniversary
On July 15 at 1 pm, children and
families enjoyed a lively, interactive
celebration of America’s 250th
anniversary. The program opened
with a short Revolutionary War video,
followed by energetic reenactments
featuring Paul Revere on horseback,
soldiers in action, and Molly Pitcher
cooling the cannons. Kids watched
the signing of the Declaration of
Independence, saw Betsy Ross
present the 13 star flag, viewed the
Statue of Liberty, and heard the
Liberty Bell “crack.”
Uncle Sam wrapped up the event by
leading a patriotic parade while
everyone sang God Bless America
and You’re a Grand Old Flag. Children
participated throughout using flags,
hats, crowns, Liberty Bells, and
kazoos, with screens displaying patriotic imagery to bring history to life.
Auditions for “Murder at the HOA”
– August 24 & 28
Auditions for our fall dinner theatre
production, Murder at the HOA, will
be held in the Horizon Center
Ballroom on:
• Sat., Aug. 24 from 12 – 2 pm
• Wed., Aug. 28 from 12 – 2 pm
Actors and singers are needed to
bring this comedic mystery to life.
Whether you’re a seasoned performer
or stepping onstage for the first time,
we encourage you to audition.
Performance dates are October 23
– 25.

Our November Road Trip will be to
the Deland Shopping area on
Wednesday November 11th. Great
shops and restaurants to spend the
day at. The cost will be $27.00 per
person for the bus with tip included.
Tickets will go on sale in September.
You must be a paid member to
purchase a ticket for the trip at our
September meeting.
In December we will be having a
Wreath Festival with members decorating 16 inch wreaths for display on
front doors and table centerpieces.
They will be displayed during our
December meeting and will be offered
up for sale to residents and members
of the House2Home during a Chinese
raffle. Wreaths will be available for
two wreaths (double doors) or singles
for a single front door or centerpiece.
If you are interested in decorating
wreaths for this event, please let Tina
know as soon as possible. Wreaths
will be ordered in September. Wreaths
will be delivered to those interested
on December 1.
Let’s get our creative juices going!
Our summer is spent learning new
routines and practicing for our annual
spring show. Think about joining us. If
you can swim, float, and put your
head underwater, then you can learn
synchronized swimming. If you can
devote your time to practice on
Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, 9 – 11 am
each week, then come by and visit us
during our practice. If you are a snowbird and have even a small interest,
come by the Peninsula Pool and check
us out. Two to four hours of swimming each week is great physical
exercise and learning about the
routines is a wonderful way to keep
your brain active. We are not just a
Chartered Club; we are a group of
swim sisters who care about each
other and our craft.
